Whole-hearted Love: A Lesson From My Granddaughter
Jesus tells us in Matthew 22 that the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, and mind.
We are inviting you to experience what real rest in God looks like. Dallas Willard once said “if you don’t come away for a while, you will come apart after a while.” We intend to provide various ways for you to come away for a while to experience the healing and freedom that comes from resting with God.
As we spend time in rest with Jesus, we begin to get a glimpse of who we were created to be. Too often, we move in various directions searching for our purpose and our identity. At rest, we experience the love of our Father and His delight in us as His children. We then learn our purpose is to follow Him every day in a more intimate and prayerful way, to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Then from that overflowing heart we love others in the way that God has designed and gifted us.

Over the past 40 years of our married life together, we have led various classes and groups in a church setting. A common problem we have seen is a disconnect of the head and heart. People know about God’s love and can share it with others but struggle to experience His love for themselves.
There is also a struggle of finding identity in doing rather than being. This can lead people to wonder if their faith in Jesus can really make a difference in the various day to day challenges we face as His children.
What seems to be missing is an understanding of “how” to experience this kind of life. That is our mission of this site, to teach and describe the “how to” of entering and developing a deep personal walk with our Heavenly Father
