An Ordinary Life
God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, our Savior and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit are more than religious concepts we learn about and share with others. We are invited into an intimate relationship with the Trinity that comes alive in every moment of our ordinary lives. Just as Jesus made God visible by becoming incarnate, we can live our lives incarnationally today; experiencing and making the invisible, visible. First by looking for ways in our normal walk of life to experience God incarnationally. Perhaps Brother Lawrence said it best “The time of business does not with me differ from the time of prayer, and in the noise and clatter of my kitchen . . . I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees at the blessed sacrament.”
We also can be God’s representatives to a world longing for the shalom of the Kingdom of God. How we live and engage with the world helps bring the good news of Jesus more visibly to others. Our discipleship is so much more than a learning and activity centric exercise. It is a moment by moment, day by day immersion into the endless love of our Father and living out our lives as an expression of that love.
